BIO
James M. Holmes is a Cinematographer and Production Sound Mixer from Salisbury, North Carolina. He discovered his passion for filmmaking while working for a church, an experience that sparked his pursuit of visual storytelling and an appreciation for the role of sound. He went on to earn an Associate of Applied Science in Digital Film and Video Production from The Art Institute of Charlotte.
His work across Camera and Sound Departments informs his approach to every production, connecting the details of light, composition, and dialogue to the larger story. Years spent working abroad further shaped his craft, giving him experience with different crews and production environments. Whether behind the camera or recording sound on set, James brings thoughtful attention to the mood, atmosphere, and emotion of each scene.
